Coverage Options

All of our services/programs and products that we carry are either covered or payable by a number of options.

  • Direct Billing to Insurance Companies
  • Extended Health Insurance
  • Self Pay
  • Motor Vehicle Insurance
  • Workers Safety & Insurance Board (W.S.I.B.)

Direct Billing To Insurance Companies

Direct Billing to insurance companies is a convenient fast way to have services billed directly and electronically to your insurance carrier. Presently there are several insurance companies that allow direct billing, such as Sunlife and Great West Life, but others are slowly adopting electronic direct billing. Your insurance covers services as outlined by your employer so that each plan has their own specific coverage. Some of the insurance companies may require a doctor’s referral to bill for some services, although a majority of them do not. Presently the system is set up to allow direct billing for all our paramedical services such as Physiotherapy, Massage Therapy and Acupuncture. Services such as Custom made foot orthotics and compression hosiery/socks cannot be billed electronically as there are more provisions and documents that need to be provided.

Extended Health Insurance

If your Extended Health Insurance does not allow direct billing we can still help to prepare the documentation and forms needed to be reimbursed. We also can call and verify insurance information provided we have the details of the plan. Some of the insurance companies may need your verbal authorization to release coverage information. We can send insurance claims on your behalf to your insurance carrier however the carrier will reimburse the plan member for services rendered. To facilitate this each visit/service would have to be paid on an ongoing basis. The reimbursement of the services will depend on your specific coverage for the services rendered.

Self-Pay

VisaFor those that do not have any insurance coverage or choose to pay for services and submit their own claims we accept the following forms of payment.

  • Visa
  • Mastercard
  • Debit
  • Cash

Motor Vehicle Insurance

Motor Vehicle Insurance If you have been involved in a motor vehicle accident we can electronically bill your auto insurance directly. For your insurance claim to be approved, your Auto insurance will require an accident benefit package be filled out and sent to them for consideration (these forms are mailed out to you once the accident has been reported). It is often advisable that you seek medical help at your earliest convenience as the injuries are often treated much more quickly when they are in an acute stage (early stage). Your insurance will also require an Initial Treatment plan and assessment to be sent to them (We will assess you on your initial visit and develop and forward a treatment plan electronically to your auto insurance). Your auto insurance will usually authorize treatments and respond to us directly. Please note that for an auto insurance claim to be processed we will require your extended health insurance (if you have extended health) be billed first for services (this is the law in Ontario).  Your extended health insurance may require a doctor’s referral for your extended health. As well all payments once approved will be directly paid to our facility.

Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (W.S.I.B.)

Workplace Safety and Insurance Board We also accept WSIB claims as long as you have a valid and approved claim number. The claim number is provided by your employer/workplace and services can be directly billed to WSIB on your behalf. We will also require a date of accident and contact name of your employer. Please note that WSIB will only cover the injury sustained at work and not any pre-existing injuries.

If you have any questions regarding coverage information and options to pay for services please contact our staff at Dynamic Physiotherapy.

Do I need a referral to see a health practitioner?

To see any of our health practitioners we do not require a doctor’s referral.
However some services that are covered by your extended health plan may require a doctor’s referral in order to be reimbursed for expenses.

How long does it take to book an appointment?

We are able to make an appointment for you usually within 24-48 hours.

Are all health practitioners regulated?

Yes, all our physiotherapists, massage therapists, and acupuncturists are all regulated in the province of Ontario.

Is direct billing available to insurance?

Direct billing is available to some insurance companies. Currently most plans from Sunlife, Great West Life and Manulife (beginning Jan.1.14) offer direct billing. All insurance plans related to Motor Vehicle Accident claims allow direct billing. If the claim is an accident that is work related, Workplace Safety and Insurance Board also allows direct billing.

Is Parking available?

Parking is readily available, and free for up to one hour (some conditions apply).

How often should I come in for therapy?

Each patient is evaluated on a case by case basis. Depending on the type of injury and what stage of healing a recommendation will be made to you by the treating practitioner.

How do I book an appointment?

Booking an appointment is easy. You can use our link online and someone will respond back shortly, or by calling directly to the location of choice and an appointment can be set relatively quickly (Sometimes even the same day).

Does my insurance cover all expenses?

This depends on your individual insurance plan through your employer. Most insurance coverages cover 100% (although some cover 80% or 90%). Most plans usually have a limit per year. When you book an appointment we can help by calling your insurance to check the coverage of your plan.

Are services covered by OHIP?

No. Both our locations are private, however most of our services are often covered by an extended health care plan (some of which we can directly bill). We also offer fee-for-service for those without benefit plans.
